INTRODUCTION
Women in Mining in Nigeria (WIMIN) Lagos Chapter hosted it’s maiden open House Exhibition in Lagos on the 4th and 5th of
November 2022. Nigeria’s Gold and Gemstones were showcased to the World. WIMIN seeks a more inclusive and resilient future in the solid minerals sector to develop a more sustainable and
diversified economy for Nigeria.

In view of the investment otential in this
sector, Women In Mining Lagos Chapter
is organizing a Gold and Gemstones
Conference and Exhibition
(GGCE) to:
develop Lagos State as a hub for the Gold and
Gemstones Sectors through partnership and
collaboration with private and public
stakeholders.
create value addition in the solid mineral sectors,
while boosting private sector earning and
allowing a consequent boost to the nation’s
economy.
showcase Nigerian gold and gemstones in a
positive light, while providing the much-needed
recognition in the tracking, identification and
responsible sourcing of Nigerian minerals in line
with international best practices.
revive the trade of Nigerian Gold & Gemstones

Furthermore, in line with the World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO) guideline on
gemstones identification, tracking and recovery
system, this show is expected to enable Nigerian
gold and gemstone acquire the much-needed
recognition in compliance with globally accepted
practices.
